China takes it seriously in Pacific Ocean

On Tuesday, the world’s first manned submersible, Jiaolong for the first time reached of 5,057 meters in the Pacific Ocean. After its successful dive, the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) is hoping that the Jiaolong will pave way to for a record-breaking 7,000-metre test dive in 2012.

It has been told that Jiaolong has got its name from a mythical sea dragon. The project to create a submersible was begun in China in 2002. By diving 5,057 below the sea level, China has become fifth country to send a man 3,500 meter below the sea level, following the United States, France, Russia and Japan.

Appraising the achievements of China in developing Jiaolong, the film director James Cameron has proposed to make a movie as a sequel of Avatar- the race to get to the bottom of the sea is surging forward.

On being asked about the exact location where Jialong landed, China refused comment saying the dive was just a test dive in the Pacific Ocean. The successful dive of the submersible gives hope of man reaching the unreachable part of the earth. The device could help many nations in taking out oil buried deep down the oceans.
