Lifetime Experince for Maritime Shipping Companies

International maritime charity, the Sailor’s Society are inviting leaders in the shipping industry to race across the Solent in order to raise funds for merchant seafarers in this year’s Clipper Challenge on 12th September.

Teams of 12 will take part in the Clipper Challenge, which involves breakfast, sailing training, lunch and a friendly race around the Solent, concluding with dinner at Loch Fyne restaurant in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth with prizes for the winning team.

Participants will have the incredible opportunity develop their team working skills as they sail in a 68ft, ‘round the world’ Clipper yacht. No previous sailing experience is needed as teams are given all the training needed to crew the boats around the Solent on the day.

Companies who have previously taken part have championed the event saying it’s a perfect team building activity and a unique experience, not to mention great fun! Last year’s winners, ATPI, are back again this year to retain their title.

Adam Knights, Group Sales & Marketing Director, ATPI says: “It was great to have been part of the Sailors’ Society Clipper Regatta last year. It was a fantastic day. Our winning team really enjoyed the atmosphere and the once in a lifetime opportunity to sail the 68ft Clipper yachts.

We are proud to support the fantastic work that the Sailors’ Society provide for the professional and personal well-being of merchant mariners, both in port and whilst away at sea. We look forward to another exciting team day on the 12th September.”

Each yacht hosts a team of 12 and it costs just £6,000 per boat to participate. Funds raised will go to the Sailors’ Society who provide both practical and spiritual support for merchant seafarers around the world. Their Port Chaplains visit thousands of ships every year, caring for seafarers and their specific needs.
