Prints competition at DIVE 2011

Entries are invited for the annual BSoUP/DIVER Print Competition, to be held during DIVE 2011 at Birmingham’s NEC over 22 and 23 October.

The competition’s show display of a shortlisted 80 underwater photographic prints will be judged by those who view them and would like to vote for winners of the four trophies and ten individual awards on offer.

Organised by the British Society of Underwater Photographers and hosted by DIVER magazine, the competition accepts underwater photographs taken in Britain or overseas during the three years preceding 22 October.

Amateur photographers have the opportunity to compete for prizes separately from divers who take underwater photographs for a living, are otherwise “significantly involved” in underwater photography or have already won a major national or international underwater photography competition.

Entrants are allowed to submit, by the competition deadline of 1 October, up to three prints each, with a limit of two in any one competition category.

Top prize, donated by Oonasdivers, is a week’s unlimited shore diving at Marsa Shagra in Egypt, including flights, transfers and full-board tented accommodation.

A competition notice is available by going to www.bsoup.org/News.php and selecting ‘BSoUP/DIVER Print Competition 2011’.
