Top -10 recruiting class for 2011-12 campaign

The Harvard women’s swimming and diving team will welcome eight members of the class of 2015 to its roster for the 2011-12 season, Stephanie Wriede Morawski, the Costin Family Head Coach for Harvard Women’s Swimming and Diving, announced Wednesday. The incoming class hails from eight different states and provinces and features two divers and eight swimmers.

“They are an incredibly talented group of individuals who, among them all, have every event covered,” said Morawski. “Not only will this class add depth to our lineup, but the combination of speed, determination and heart will have an immediate impact on the league. We are thrilled to have not only a talented group of swimmers and divers joining us, but an amazing group of young women.”

The Harvard women’s swimming and diving class of 2015 garnered attention from Collegeswimming.com, as the website ranked it the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation. In the poll, Harvard was the only Ivy League school in the top ten and the only New England program in the top 25.

The octet of freshmen will look to help push Harvard to the top of the Ivy League. Last season, the Crimson placed second at both the Ivy League and ECAC Championships, and had 10 student-athletes earn All-Ivy League accolades.
